Training
Our rider/trainer at NLF is Jenna Ordway. She has been teaching and training for over 11 years and has extensive experience with young, green, and "problem" horses. Over the years she has trained with some of the best riders in the New England area and most recently rode with olympic rider Dr. Cesar Parra in the Equine Affair of '06. Currently Jenna is finishing up her schooling in southern California, while riding with area trainers, she will return to train here at NLF full time in early July '08.
Our primary focus in training is the horse's well being. We also endeavor to foster a positive, healthy, and rewarding relationship between horse and rider, while seeking to maximize the horses's and rider's potential. Each horse is brought along at their own pace, with special attention paid to developing a solid foundation, which will allow them to succeed in whatever their chosen discipline is. We will work with you and your horse in a highly individualized and customized program to help each horse and rider reach their goal, whether that is just to experience a quiet trail ride or become successful in the show ring. We treat each horse as an individual, and stress that the horse dictates not only the training timeline but even the riding discipline as well. We constantly strive to produce horses who love their jobs, and who are simple, straightforward, and fun to ride.
